When I began my career on Wall Street, I realized that as both a newbie and a female, I was an easy target for free advice.  At first I listened to and believed much of what I heard, but before long, I realized that much of this “advice” was simply not true.  Consider the source, the bias,  unitentional or intentional, all advice is biased by personal experience.  The challenge: separating useful advice from useless advice.
